Church Covenant
The Owls Head Baptist Church exists by the call of Jesus Christ. As each of us repent and put our faith in Jesus as our Lord and Savior, He forms us together under His headship.
We hereby covenant before the Lord to follow Him in the power of the Holy Spirit as His baptized disciples by learning to obey everything He has commanded us as we move into full fellowship with the Father.
We recognize that He has commanded us to love Him first, to love each other next and to love those outside the faith. We intend to live out our love for Him by doing what He commands, especially through the structures of the authority of marriage, family, employment, citizenship and church family.
As Christians, we are called to guard our life and growth in Christ by:
Reading the scriptures and praying daily to continue to let God speak to us.
Making a primary lifestyle commitment to participate in congregational worship.
Tithing to the Lord through the church from the income that God grants us. Also to give generously to offerings to further the work of this church, the relief of the poor and the spread of the gospel through all nations.
Striving to communicate with other believers daily for fellowship and encouragement.
Using natural and spiritual gifts for the building up of the body of Christ and for ministry in the world.
Safeguarding our bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit and
Exercising Church discipline to restore a fallen brother or sister, care for the health of the body and care for the honor of the name of Jesus.
